Course objectives:

Familiarizing participating Engineers with Structural Design using hand calculations and helping them develop their skills in analysis and design of multistory buildings.

Course manner

• Course duration is 28 hours spread across 14 days.
• Course contains both theoretical and practical parts, with some exercises.
• Required manual and workbooks will be provided for the participants.
• By the end of the course participants will be certified with certifications approved by (Kurdistan Regional Government – Engineers Union – and View group Institute).
• The course is taught in the Kurdish language, however it can also be taught in Arabic and English if required by the participants.

Course Content:

• philosophy and procedure of building design
• Types of loads and forces on buildings.
• Load analysis with direct using of factors and tables.
• Design of beam, one way reinforced concrete slab, and reinforced concrete beam.
• Analysis and design of flat slab.
• Design of uni-axial and bi-axially loaded short and long columns.
• Design of below ground walls under buildings and shear walls
• Design of column bases, single and multiple (connected)
• Design of raft foundations
• Completing analysis and design exercises by participants as home work
