Course objectives:

Familiarizing participants with structural design using ETABS & SAFE –v12

Course manner:

• Course duration is 39 hours spread across 13 days.
• Required manuals, CDs and workbooks will be provided for the participants.
• By the end of the course participants will be certified with certifications approved by (Kurdistan Regional Government – Engineers Union – and View Group Institute).
• Course contains both theoretical and practical parts, with some exercises.
• Participants must have their own computers.
• The course is presented in the Kurdish language, it can also be presented in Arabic and English if required by the participants.

Course Content:

• Seismic Response of Structures; Seismicity of Northern Iraq and Principles of Seismic Design.
• Modeling the structure in ETABS.
• Gravity Loading including Dead, SuperDead and wall loadings on Floor and Beams.
• Seismic Loading.
• Checking Analysis Results – Verifying Code Provisions.
• Designing the structural elements.
• ACI Seismic Provisions for Reinforced Concrete (RC) Structures .
• Foundation (modeling – analysis & design)  .
• Slab (modeling  – analysis & design).
